Let’s Play Sim City! Oh, we’re in Retrober, aren’t we? That’s what’s the deal with all of these ollld school games. Speaking of ollld games, this is the ORIGINAL Sim City. It’s not even your daddy’s Sim City 2000, this was the one which preceded them all, and I think it was great!
Let’s Play Sim City:
So this formula would be copied and tweaked hundreds of times over by other developers, but before everything it was just Sim City: build a city out of something like ten basic structures, checks your stats, keep crime and pollution down, get your approval rating up, and yeah somehow it was addictively fun.
As I demonstrated in this video, I’m all about developing part of the city on an island and would keep generating the world until I had a decent sized piece of island I could connect to from the mainland.
I make humorous but legitimate inquisitive observations in this video which I didn’t recognize as a kid, such as how did they have access to nuclear power in 1900, let alone modern day airplane designs/airplanes in general or Godzilla.
SHIFT F-U-N-D, hell yes. I don’t think anyone expected me to play such an old and archaic game straight, so I abused the hell out of this. Eventually I decided no one wanted to see that much of me playing Sim City, at least the original, and quit, but I definitely enjoyed this game back in the day.
Now I’m excited to play the other Sim games I grew up on, plus the games which they influenced like Theme Park. Mm can’t wait.
