Let’s Play Outlast: Whistleblower! This was part of my Let’s Scream With Brigands October event, which also coincides with Retrober. October is a busy month come to think of it. But anyway, in Whistleblower, we’re playing as the technician working at the asylum who tipped off the journalist/main character from the original Outlast in this prequel.
Actually prequel isn’t a perfect term for this game considering most of the two games’ timelines overlap with one
another and come close to resolving at the same time. So more of a pre-simultaneous-el.
Let’s Play Outlast Whistleblower:
This game had a lot of creepy moments, like the naked guy who kept trying to disembowel me in various ways, but there was no guy setting himself on fire in this game (or was that this game and not the first one… getting my Outlasts mixed up), and there was no creepy doctor who amputated your fingers then chased you around the halls like in the first game.
So I guess I’m saying sadistic mutilating doctor > naked maybe cannibal guy in terms of creepiness.
This game has a much happier ending than the first one as we escape in Miles’ car, albeit with the wallrider coming after us. Of course he’s no match for fourth gear, yeah!
Yeah overall this game was shorter and ultimately just couldn’t live up to the terror of the first game, though I did enjoy live streaming these videos and experiencing the horror together while I drank. It probably helped keep me more sane while all of this was going on, and I don’t think I did a bad job at surviving for the most part, either.
