Let’s Play Bubble Bobble! Another pathetic attempt at tying in a game which has nothing to do with Thanksgiving with Thanksgiving. The angle was that Thanksgiving is a time for eating (plenty of fruit and snacks in this game) and getting together with friends, so I invited my buddy Matt who had never played this one before to give it a go with me.
Let’s Play Bubble Bobble:
This was one of my favorite let’s plays on the channel, because it’s a classic game I love burning through with a friend, and Matt and I offered up a lot of quality banter between the two of us while all of that was going on.
It’s a good game which you can kind of turn your brain off as it relates to the game and make observations about life, video games growing up, the eternal line drawn between Nintendo and Sega kids growing up, and Morgan Webb.
Things got a little tense there in the final stretch when I wanted to open up the secret road to the real final boss and Matt wasn’t playing along at first. I actually thought he WAS playing along, but I subsequently found out that no, he was trying to deliberately sabotage the mission out of ignorance, he just literally couldn’t play the game well enough to do that… which is kind of funny in retrospect.
Anyway, I need to find more games like this to play with friends which are perfect for facilitating conversation and good times.
