Let’s Play Space Quest 2! Space Quest 2 finds our space aged janitorial hero, Roger Wilco, right back in his standard station in life a few months after saving the galaxy. Oh how quickly we forget.
Let’s Play Space Quest 2:
How crap is that that after we literally (at least in the context of Space Quest 1) save the galaxy yet a few months later the fifteen minutes of fame have worn off and we’re back swabbing space puke off the deck of cruisers?
Such is the life of a janitor in the future I suppose.
Anyway, we pick back up with all around nice guy Roger Wilco shortly after the Sarien Encounter, and of course he quickly finds himself in the seat of danger once more. The target of Sludge Vohaul whom we foiled in the first game, we briefly escape the clutches of his heavies on that planet only to be recaptured (sp/is that actually a word?) by Vohaul and set loose on his ship.
Now that I’m describing the plot in that sequential way, I’m realizing that the entire game takes place in essentially two different environments between the planet and Sludge Vohaul’s ship.
Still, we cover a lot of ground between the two, and all in all this is a fun game. Now that I’m thinking about it, Space Quest 2 is arguably my least favorite of the lot, but given the strength and my love for the series, that’s not really a slight against it.
The latter half of the majority of the Sierra series were typically my favorites what with the addition of the voice acting, better graphics, point and click interfaces over anally specific typies… but yeah Space Quest 2 was short, but a good game just the same.
Don’t forget the communicator device to connect with the aliens at the bottom of the chasm, just a friendly reminder.
