Let’s Play Shadowgate

Let’s Play Shadowgate! Let’s Play ShadowgateShadowgate was an interesting game, unlike anything I’ve played on the channel thus far and unlike anything I’ve played on the NES ever.

Let’s Play Shadowgate:

This is actually a pretty cool game with a nicely developed story, and the north/south/east/west navigation system was a nice change of pace, feeling like a D&D game or something to that effect.

The major gripe I had with the game was that it was entirely confounding in every way imaginable when it came to advancing the plot. You would pick up random items throughout your journey, and you’d have to use the most random, “I’d never think of that” items to get the most equally random outcomes.

I take my hat off to the guys and gals who could figure this game out as kids. Suffice to say you got your money’s worth in terms of time back out of the game due to the sheer nonsensical methods to progressing and eventually beating the game, but more power to those of you who breezed through this game; you were a better Wizard than I.
