Let’s Play Clash at Demonhead! Let’s Play Clash at DemonheadI’m starting to get a bit embarrassed, or at the very least question my childhood identity, because of the number of decent games, not just games, that escaped me as a child. I guess there were only so many weekends in a year (52 by my count) so there were only so many chances to rent a new game.

Anyway, Clash at Demonhead is another solid game which flew under my radar somehow.

Let’s Play Clash at Demonhead:

When someone requested Clash at Demonhead, the most I knew about it was the reference in Scott Pilgrim, specifically being the name of one of the bands in the film.

The game itself is pretty great and has a lot of things which I appreciate in a game. This includes a solid soundtrack, great gameplay, and a unique concept executed through a truly open ended world which I loved.

I don’t recall much from the plot (but honestly who remembers that much about the plots of most of these games, particularly when they all mimic one another in one form or another), but the strength of this game came from the gameplay.

Also another instance where you collect money and items to make your life much more manageable, and I found that I could stock up to mostly get what I needed all at once and make the remainder of the game more doable.

One admitted issue I had was navigating the world, knowing where I had already been as I backtracked quite a bit, and it was difficult knowing exactly where to go. It was especially annoying when I had to search high and low for a particular boss I had accidentally skipped over, and I ended up having to traverse the entire world before I finally tracked him down.

All in all a fun platformer which definitely had its own things going on, and another delightful surprise chalked up to good subscribers.
