Let’s Play Quest for Glory 3! Bwana split? I’ve gone on record time and time again as saying Quest for Glory is my favorite series from Sierra and one of my favorite series of games of all time, and Quest for Glory 3 is another fantastic addition. I love this series so much, my favorite game fluctuates, the point being that on some days, I claim this as it.. or no it’s probably 4… gah!
Let’s Play Quest for Glory 3:
A hero goes where a hero is needed, and boy does the land of Tarna and greater (East?) Fricana need a hero. The Simbani tribe’s Spear of Death has been stolen and they’re blaming the Leopardmen. The Leopardmen’s Drum of Magic has been stolen and they’re blaming the Simbani. And the normally democratic and peaceful Liontaurs are trying to mediate but it’s getting out of control.
It seems like one side’s being played against the other at first glance, and it’s our job to suss it all out.
There are a lot of familiar faces in and around Tarna, and there’s plenty to do regardless of your character type. Knowing how to beat the game now and what’s basically the fast track to completion, I can breeze through it in an hour or so.
That said, it was easily more fun when I first got the game in the mid to early 90’s and you didn’t know how to beat the game. More than that, you spent time leveling up and developing your character’s stats all around Tarna and getting the full experience of the game.
I still laugh to myself thinking of the awesome exploits my brother and I fashioned to get certain stats up, especially asking Tabacka Sim Rish’s name over and over again to get our communication stat up, or unloading a couple hundred of Kalb’s meat slices on Harami in order to get our honor up.
I’ll say it again; one of my favorite games from one of my favorite series of all time. Helluva job, Lori Ann Cole.
