Let’s Play Fester’s Quest!
I may be unsure if I beat Milon’s Secret Castle for the first time via my let’s play on the channel, but I think Fester’s Quest was definitely my first time beating it. Sunsoft loved to torment kids in the early 90’s by way of the difficulty of their otherwise awesome games, that’s for sure.
Let’s Play Fester’s Quest:
Sunsoft also had a knack for making one unique and original title after another, even if it was very loosely based on a television series.
In this game you play, unsurprisingly, as the titular character Fester himself. And for some reason you kill slime and other random alien creatures with a souped up vacuum cleaner set to blow with a number of different bullets of different range and power.
This game is another one (without thinking about it too much in the moment, maybe all Sunsoft games are like this) where, if you know the ins and outs, it’s a much more manageable game.
And like Milon, it’s got a special if not frustrating quality to it where you instantly have all those memories of playing it as a kid, renting it from the game store if you did, etc. as soon as you pick it up and start out on that street.
One of the perks of this channel is finally going back and beating games which plagued and taunted me as a child for being unable to beat them at the time. Not to mention I get to see all the crappy endings I missed out on at the time, as well, and Fester’s Quest is no exception.
